Story Synopsis:
Sent to Heaven some 40 years too soon, struggling stand-up comedian Lance Barton is sent back Down To Earth to continue living his life. The catch is, he has to choose a body of someone who is not dead yet. So, until he can get a more appropriate body, he selects Charles Wellington, a middle-aged white millionaire, who has to smooth things over for the poor people at his hospital in Brooklyn. Trouble is, as Wellington, Barton finds it a bit difficult to rap his favorite songs among the brothas and get Sontee (King) the girl of his dreams. If the story seems familiar, it is based on the film Heaven Can Wait, starring Warren Beatty. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a nicely rendered picture throughout, with sharp and detailed images. Contrast and shadow delineation are well balanced, with good visual information in the darker scenes. Colors are rich and vibrant, with well-balanced fleshtones, and deep blacks. At times, fine details shimmer. Edge enhancement can be bothersome, but overall the picture is quite pleasing. (Suzanne Hodges)
