    Story Synopsis:
    Based on the award-winning novel by George Dawes Green, The Caveman

    DVD Picture:
    The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a pleasing picture, with images that are sharp and crisp. Colors are rich and fully saturated, with natural fleshtones, and deep blacks. The picture is quite solid throughout, with little shimmering noticed in the finer details. However, edge enhancement and occasional pixelization can be obtrusive at times. Nonetheless, the visuals are intriguing and quite pleasing throughout. (Suzanne Hodges)

    Soundtrack:
    The 5.1-channel discrete soundtracks (reportedly remastered in Dolby Digital Surround EX) deliver an expansive soundfield listening experience that is at times breathtaking and downright immersive, particularly with the various POV, and musical performance sequences. Fidelity is excellent, and the distribution of atmospheric effects throughout the listening space is both creative and tasteful. The spatial presence overall is wonderful, with a clear, convincing sense of being engulfed within the spacious, enveloping soundfield, aided by the judicious, creative use of split surrounds. If you have back surround decoding capability, you should certainly benefit with this soundtrack. Romulus
