Story Synopsis:
Based on the book by Randy Shilts, And The Band Played On takes us through the discovery, confusion, fear, panic, apathy, and denial that occured in the summer of 1981 concerning the outbreak of AIDS and the HIV virus. It follows Matthew Modine as Dr. Don Francis, a researcher with the Centers For Disease Control who tries to uncover the cause of the mysterious disease that was claiming more and more lives every day.
