DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a dated picture that is generally sharp, with good detail. Colors are rich with good balance, and deep blacks. Contrast seems a bit low at times, with little definition in the darker scenes. The source element is revealing of film grain, dirt, and occasionally distracting artifacts. Details infrequently shimmer, and there is also some edge enhancement and pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
