DVD Picture:
The new anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits an improved picture over the previously reviewed non-anamorphic DVD, not only in terms of increased resolution, but for slightly richer colors with better balance. Viewed alone, the picture appears solid, with generally sharp images, though fine details are wanting at times. Colors are rich and vibrant, with accurate fleshtones and deep, endless blacks. Contrast and shadow delineation are generally satisfying. Source element dirt and film grain are revealed. There is a minor presence of edge enhancement. (Suzanne Hodges)
