DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD picture has a dated quality, but colors remain fairly rich and well balanced. Images can be generally sharp, but fine definition and clarity are wanting. The picture can be very soft at times. Contrast and shadow delineation should be satisfactory, though details are lost in the darker scenes. There is some pixelization and occasionally obtrusive edge enhancement. The source element is revealing of minor film grain and occasional artifacts, but overall the picture should be generally pleasing. (Suzanne Hodges)The DVD also includes a modified 1.33:1 version (not reviewed).
