20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has delivered another first-rate entry in their Five Star DVD Collection. For those of you who enjoy documentaries, you will thoroughly enjoy this disc as there is not one, not two, not three, but four documentaries and featurettes, ranging in length from 24 minutes to 44 minutes. Story Synopsis:

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture looks dated, with many soft and hazy images, but detail can also be quite satisfying. Colors have an intentionally desaturated appearance, but hues are solid and well balanced. There are very few artifacts noticed from the source elements. There is no obtrusive edge enhancement, and pixelization is infrequently detected. The football game at the end of the movie is quite colorful, with rich red and bold blue uniforms. Considering what has been available for M*A*S*H, fans should be delighted with the picture. There is a supplement on Disc Two that addresses the restoration of M*A*S*H. Since there were no acceptable existing elements to use for picture quality, the restoration team created a new negative from the color separation masters and then color timed the new negative to match the original desaturated look of the movie (with the exception of the more colorful football game).
