DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.40:1 DVD exhibits a picture that looks a bit dated. While colors can be rich and naturally balanced, hues seem a bit weak at times. Images are often undefined and slightly smeared. Contrast seems a bit low, limiting detail, and visual information tends to get lost in the darker scenes. There is a very small amount of edge enhancement noticed. The source element is revealing of film grain and occasional artifacts. Overall, the picture looks older than expected. (Suzanne Hodges)The DVD also includes a modified 1.33:1 version (not reviewed).
