Once again, Warner boasts a cast-and-crew selection in their special features menu that turns out to be a big waste of time, as none of the characters are selectable. Also includes a trailer.
Story Synopsis:
British archaeologist, John Banning (Cushing), ignores the warnings of Egyptians who know of the curse of The Mummy. He continues with his dig and desecrates the tomb of Princess Anaka, whose mummified lover is destined to protect her forever. Awakened from a 4,000 year nap, the grumpy mummy (Lee) brings terror and death to those who disturbed him. His path of vengeance takes him to England, where he becomes smitten with Banning
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture has a dated quality, with soft images that lack fine detail and definition. Colors are well balanced with an abundance of brown hues, but fleshtones are generally accurate and blacks are quite deep. Contrast and shadow delineation should be satisfying. The source element is revealing of plenty of artifacts and some film grain. Overall, the picture is quite solid and should satisfy for the age of the movie. (Suzanne Hodges)
