DVD Picture:
This new anamorphically enhanced DVD, framed at 2.35:1, exhibits improved image quality over the previously reviewed non-anamorphic DVDs (Issues 25 and 37). Colors exhibit much better balance, with improvements in fleshtones and saturation. Whites are whiter rather than exhibiting a slightly yellow tinge. Images are sharp and detailed, though some scenes are slightly soft. There are a few distractions in the way of edge enhancement and pixelization, but fans and owners of the non-anamorphic version will be thrilled with the quality of this DVD. (Suzanne Hodges)The DVD also includes a modified 1.33:1 version (not reviewed).
