Story Synopsis:
Set in the rough-and-tumble period just after the civil war in Texas, the land is at the mercy of murderous bandits. From the chaos emerges a group of young cowboys recruited to work for the Texas Rangers. These young men are summoned to restore order, and some have personal reasons to seek vengeance upon the bandits. Under the fearless and tireless leadership of Leander McNelly (McDermott), the Rangers find themselves severely outgunned and outmanned, but unmatched for courage and determination. Based on the book
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD is generally sharp, with satisfying detail, though some smearing is evident. Other than a very slight orange tinge, the color scheme is quite natural and well balanced. Contrast seems to be a bit low, which limits detail, and visual information is limited in the darker scenes. On occasion, edge enhancement can be bothersome. (Suzanne Hodges)
