Story Synopsis:
The son of teen-movie icon John Hughes, screenwriter James Hughes takes a stab at the genre with

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a pleasing, edgy appearance. Color fidelity is nicely rendered, with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are sharp, and detail is nicely rendered. Contrast and shadow delineation are well balanced. The source element is revealing of film grain, which in some scenes is more distinguished than others. There is some edge enhancement and pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The 5.1-channel sound mix delivers with ample directionality and a pleasing sense of holosonic immersion. The soundstage is typically quite quiescent and reserved in nature with spatiality, yet sounds well balanced around the listener when the front and surround channels are engaged. Fidelity of this recording is also impressive, and voices have a natural-sounding character with remarkable clarity. The tonal character of this sound mix is also nicely balanced, with a pleasing sense of neutrality when heard at or near reference level. The music palpably surrounds the listener, and also has a welcome, satisfying deep bass foundation with some .1 LFE content. The DTS
