DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced DVD, framed at 2.35:1, exhibits a picture that has been carefully restored. Images exhibit good sharpness, though fine detail and definition are lacking at times. Colors are rich and well balanced, with nicely rendered fleshtones and deep, endless blacks. The picture seems a bit dark, with slightly low contrast, which adds to the limited amount of fine detail. Edge enhancement can be a distraction. The picture has a dated appearance, with the source element revealing of dirt, artifacts, and film grain (but nothing as distracting as on the existing video master, as seen in the Restoration Comparison special feature option on this DVD).
