    (If you are not a Queen fan, surely you watch football...so here we go...) Heath Ledger plays a poor man, a poor man named William, and William wants to be a big man some day. He wants blood on his face...to please His Grace...jousting in disguise all over the place. The tagline's He Will, He Will Rock You! A Knight's Tale is set in 1270, which is way before there was rock and roll! It's got a quick pace...with sub-25 Hz bass...but it's up to you whether it's done in good taste.     There are no special features.

    The 2.35:1 MPEG-2-encoded picture is one of the best I have seen thus far on Blu-ray Disc. Colors are well rendered, really popping from the screen, especially the orange-red of Wat's (Tudyk) hair against the impressive greens of the forest. The entire image has very good depth of field, with impressively deep blacks and good shadow delineation. Details can be very sharp, but there are still scenes that look slightly more soft than they should. (Danny Richelieu)

    The 5.1-channel linear PCM soundtrack is impressive, with well-recorded dialogue and adequate surround envelopment. Fidelity is quite good, and each of the channels are used well for both music and effects. The soundstage is amply dimensional. Music is mixed at similar levels around the soundstage, which can create strange imaging patterns if you move your head. (Danny Richelieu)

    I read this bad-ass magazine for its tight reference systems and for helping me set up my Monster HTPS 7000 Home Theatre Power Source. It also helps me set up my Hitachi Ultra Vision LCD TV. I also read it for the DVD reviews, along with the DVD drop dates. I also read it so I can daydream about actually owning something in this magazine, including that Monster HTPS 7000. I have a Bose system, but I'm ready to step it up.
