    In X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the X-Men prepare for battle and send Wolverine (Jackman) to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.

    Digitally photographed with the Arri Alexa camera system, the 2.39:1 1080p MVC picture exhibits a stellar native 3D visual experience with dramatic depth and panoramic perspective. As with past X-Men releases, the 3D experience here is largely flawless. Foreground objects effectively establish planes of depth. Even darker scenes reveal realistic depth. The color palette is strong and saturated with deep, solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. The contemporary scenes lean toward gray and blue hues, while the seventies timeframe is rendered with golden hues. Resolution is excellent and fine detail, clarity, and sharpness effectively enhance the viewing experience. This is a first-rate 3D visual presentation that will thrill fans of the franchise.

    The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 7.1-channel soundtrack is a powerhouse of aggressive holosonic® soundfield dimensionality. An aggressive .1 LFE channel enhances the sub-25 Hz low-frequency foundation prevalent throughout and especially during the battle scenes. Atmospherics and sound effects are directionalized and dynamic sounding and provide convincing ambience. Dialogue is clean and intelligible, even in the more intense action scenes, with decent spatial integration. Fidelity throughout is excellent as well as dynamic contrasts. This is a reference-quality soundtrack experience that is exciting and compelling.
