The 1.78:1 1080p MVC 3D picture is stunning! The armature and puppet animation is unbelievably creative with wonderful characterizations and a vivid and perfect saturated color palette that wonderfully enhances the imagery. Hues are rich and warm with contrasting shading that is beautifully executed. Tonal contrasts perfectly complement the color shadings. Contrast is perfectly balanced with deep, solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is spectacular, with the most nuanced detail vividly endeared. Characters are finely detailed in terms of facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. As for the 3D rendering, this is perhaps the finest animated 3D feature ever. The sense of perspective and image depth is absolutely impressive! If anyone still has doubts about the superiority of 3D over 2D, this, no doubt, should convince them. Every frame is naturally dimensional and delivers a realistic sense of realism. Both positive and negative are used effectively to create realistic depth and out-of-screen dimensionality. This is one reference-quality 3D presentation that is a MUST experience.
The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is exceptionally holosonic® and perfectly dimensional. The frontal soundstage is wide and deep, as is the extension to the surrounds, resulting in a terrifically dimensional soundfield. The music score is perfectly complementary and well recorded. In fact, fidelity is superb throughout. Atmospherics and sound effects are also rendered with precision, as is the Foley element, which creates believable realism. Deep, natural .1 LFE effectively projects and integrates with the other sound elements. Sounds are dispersed to all the channels for effective directionality and phantom localization. And most impressive is the spatial-integration perfection of the ADR dialogue. This is a wonderfully creative and executed soundtrack that is impressively reference quality.
