    Based on the novella by Truman Capote, Breakfast At Tiffany's stars the lovely Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, a dazzling and stylish young woman whose life is both mysterious and charming, yet heartbreaking. Holly is determined to marry a Brazilian millionaire but develops a close relationship with her neighbor (Peppard) who has a "benefactress" in Patricia Neal. The hypnotic theme song "Moon River" won an Academy Award® and the memorable score garnered Henry Mancini a second statue in 1961. (Gary Reber)

    The 1.85:1 1080p AVC restored picture exhibits a wonderfully colorful Technicolor image with fully saturated and intense hues. The color is rich and vivid throughout with deep blacks. Fleshtones are healthy looking throughout. Contrast is well balanced with good shadow delineation. Resolution is softly focused but reveals finer details during close-ups. This is a beautifully colorful picture that won't disappoint.

    The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack has been repurposed from the original monaural elements (the original English soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital). Dialogue is nicely presented with good spatial integration. While monaural focused on the dialogue, the Henry Mancini music score is dramatically enhanced with a wide stereo soundstage that extends to the surrounds for subtle envelopment. Atmospherics and sound effects are limited to city sounds and are essentially monaural focused. Mancini's music is the treat here, but overall the sound is satisfying.
