In Horrible Bosses 2, Nick (Bateman), Dale (Day), and Kurt (Sudeikis), fed up with answering to higher-ups, decide to become their own bosses by launching their own business. But a slick investor soon pulls the rug out from under them. Overplayed and desperate, and with no legal recourse, the three would-be entrepreneurs hatch a misguided plan to kidnap the investor’s adult son and ransom him to regain control of their company.

Special features include both the theatrical version (01:48:26) and the extended version (01:55:49); seven featurettes: Endless Laughter Guaranteed! (HD 17:28), Let The Sexual Healing Begin (HD 02:24), Who Invented The Shower Buddy (HD 01:29), Nick Kurt Dale INC: Employee Testimonials (HD 02:13), It’s The Shower Buddy––Infomercial (HD 01:10), High Speed Crash Course (HD 02:47), and Off The Cuff: One Liners You Didn’t See (HD 017:15); upfront previews; and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 2.40:1 1080p AVC picture was digitally photographed with the Arri Alexa XT camera system. The imagery is bright and vividly colored, with vibrant and rich hues. Colors often pop, while fleshtones remain naturally hued. Clarity and sharpness are excellent, with fine detail exhibited in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. Contrast is well balanced with revealing deep blacks and shadow delineation. This is a great-looking picture that is boldly colored.

While dialogue focused, the DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack music score is nicely presented with an excellent natural-sound bass foundation and fidelity. The music spreads across the soundstage, as well as provides surround envelopment. Atmospherics are essentially monaural and sound effects are limited, except in the car chase scene, which energizes the soundtrack. Dialogue is consistently intelligible and nicely integrated spatially. While conventionally produced, the music score is engaging.
