The 2.38:1 1080p AVC picture was photographed using the Arri Alexa and other digital camera system. The imagery is strongly saturated with a rich and warm color palette that exhibits vivid hues throughout. The stylized look is dramatically colorful yet retains a presence that borders on natural. Contrast is excellent with deep, solid blacks and strong highlights. Shadow delineation is also excellent. Fleshtones are healthily hued throughout. Visual effects and CGI are visually exciting and effective. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail evident throughout, especially during close-ups of facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. The visual diversity is thoroughly engaging, with often arresting stylization and color. This is a well-executed, reference-quality picture that won’t disappoint. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamically spatial with aggressive holosonic® soundfield immersion. Atmospherics and sound effects effectively enhance the sense of spatial dimensionality. Sound effects are effectively placed and executed, which enhances the mayhem. Deep bass is prevalent throughout but never sounds exaggerated or unnatural. The orchestral music score also is prominent and sounds impressively dynamic. The soundstage is extremely wide and deep and extends aggressively to the four surrounds. The impact is enveloping and exciting as it dominates the side and rear channels with directionalization. Dialogue is generally intelligible, with good spatial integration, though, the accents can at times be challenging. This is an exciting, fun soundtrack with dynamic power and spatial dimensionality that is reference quality. (Gary Reber)
