While the stylized MPEG-2-encoded 2.38:1 Blu-ray Disc picture, with its earthy hues, makes the film seem much older than it is, black levels are still incredibly deep and shadow delineation is superb. Fine details are not as well resolved as those found in other high-definition releases, but that could be attributable to the unmodified Samsung BD-P1000 we use for reviews. (Danny Richelieu)
