The 2.34:1 1080 p AVC picture, originally exhibited as a 3D conversion in IMAX, is highly stylized with a strong color palette and colorful lighting effects with Club Wu. Such a diversity of lighting enhances the imagery's stylization. Hues are vibrant and often pop. Contrast is well balanced with deep blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Special effects are quite effective, with shattering glass and debris floating in the air during intense fight scenes. Fleshtones are generally natural in rendering. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail exhibited throughout. This is a visually stimulating picture, with effective depth perspectives and fast-paced editing that keeps the stimulating imagery energized. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is quite dynamic sounding, with aggressive directional sound effects that extend to the surrounds to create, at times, a holosonic® effect. The orchestral music score is quite active throughout. The score is nicely recorded with a wide and deep soundstage and aggressive surround presence. Bass extension sounds natural and impactful, especially when the .1 LFE kicks in during intense explosions. Atmospherics also are effectively rendered, to create a sense of locational realism. Dialogue is natural sounding throughout and decently integrated spatially. This is an exciting soundtrack with a lot of dynamic energy that will please fans of the series. (Gary Reber)
