    Little Boy is a heartwarming tale of a child trying to achieve the impossible and bring his father home from Wold War II. it is the story of the indescribable love between a father and his son, and the son's determination and belief that he can bring back his father from war-ravaged Japan.     Special features include six deleted scenes (HD 10:27), the animated short Snack Attack (HD 04:37), upfront previews, BD-Live functionality, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

    The 2.40:1 1080p AVC picture is gorgeously rendered as a period piece reminiscent of a Norman Rockwell painting that has come to life. The film imagery projects a warm and richly colorful palette. The color palette, processed in Technicolor, is nicely saturated with a setting that is convincingly stylized to project the past. At times colors pop and mesmerize. Fleshtones are perfectly natural. Slight grain enhances the sense of the past. Contrast is excellent, with deep blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail exhibited throughout. This is a very pleasing and engaging period picture that projects warmth. (Gary Reber)

    The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is terrific, with a moving music score that permeates the story throughout. The diversity is engaging. The score is nicely recorded with a wide and deep soundstage that extends to the surrounds. Atmospherics are nicely rendered along with sound effects that define the period. Deep bass is limited but at times energizes scenes, such as during the Samurai battle and the earthquake occurrence, with effective .1 LFE. Dialogue is natural and with excellent spatial integration. This is a wonderful soundtrack that is creatively supportive of this magical story. (Gary Reber)
