Cinderella is the live-action modern classic. Despite being mistreated by her stepmother (Blanchett) and stepsisters, a spirited Ella (James) resolves to take charge of her fate. Add a royal ball, a Fairy Godmother (Bonham Carter), and a glass slipper, and suddenly––magic becomes reality! (Gary Reber)

Special features include four featurettes: A Fairy Tale Comes To Life (HD 09:23), Costume Test Fun (HD 02:39), Staging The Ball (HD 11:27), and Ella's Furry Friends (HD 03:43); the alternate opening Ella's Childhood (HD 03:02); the Frozen Fever preview (HD 07:56); five deleted scenes with introduction by Director Kenneth Branagh (HD ); upfront previews; and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 2.38:1 1080p AVC picture, which was photographed on Kodak film stock, is absolutely gorgeous with its wonderful intricate display of production design and a richly vibrant color palette. The colors are beautifully saturated throughout and at times are mesmerizing in their countless variety and intensity. Of course, the costume design is fantastic and certain to enthrall every girl and woman experiencing this classic fairy tale. Fleshtones are consistently natural throughout. Contrast is well balanced with deep, natural blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is revealing of fine detail throughout, especially in costumes, facial features, hair, and object texture. The lighting design perfectly enhances the sense of dimension and beauty. This is a wonderful cinematic viewing experience that will not disappoint in delivering a reference-quality picture. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 7.1-channel soundtrack features a wonderful orchestral score that is sweeping in its spatial dimensionality throughout the soundfield, occupying every channel with excellent fidelity and dynamics. The added two channels deliver a fully holosonic® experience. Atmospherics and sound effects add to the magical storytelling with emotional enhancement. The atmospherics expand with directionality and both bold and nuanced sensitivity. Sound effects are supported often with natural-sounding deep bass from the .1 LFE channel. Dialogue is nicely integrated spatially and naturally presented throughout. The narrative dialogue is nicely balanced forward. This is a wonderful sonic experience that perfectly complements this Disney classic. (Gary Reber)
