Inspired by an incredible true story, Masterminds is the story of David (Galifianakis), an unassuming armored-truck driver who longs for adventure. Lured into the scheme of a lifetime by his beautiful work crush Kelly (Wiig) and her cohort Steve (Wilson), David manages the impossible and makes off with $17 million in cash. But when his partners-in-crime keep the loot and set him up for a fall, David must dodge the authorities, evade a hitman (Sudeikis), and find a way to take back what he rightfully stole! (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurette The Imperfect Crime (HD 16:30), the theatrical trailer, and upfront previews.

The 1.78:1 1080p AVC picture exhibits an overall bright palette with sunny settings by the ocean and other exteriors—even interiors are generally well lit. Colors are nicely saturated, often with vivid hues that pop. Fleshtones are naturally hued, even with the disguises. Resolution is inconsistent with, at times, fine detail nicely exhibited, and at other times the imagery is softer. Contrast is good throughout with deep blacks and decent shadow delineation. Overall, this is a pleasing picture with lively and engaging imagery that effectively enhances the comedic storytelling. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack has a lively music score with surround envelopment. Occasional action sequences ignite the soundfield with energy and aggressive surrounds. Atmospherics are frontal focused and sound effects are lively. Deep bass heightens the mayhem and the music during the big party finale—a showdown involving the FBI, explosions, and a BMW episode. All through dialogue and narration are intelligible throughout This is a fun soundtrack that really entertains. (Gary Reber)
