Set in the vast, desolate plains of Montana, "The Ballad Of Lefty Brown" is an ode to the traditional revenge western. When famed frontier lawman and Montana's first elected senator Eddie Johnson (Fonda) is brutally murdered, his longtime sidekick and friend, Lefty Brown (Pullman), will stop at nothing to avenge his death. (Gary Reber)

Special features include commentary with Director Jared Moshé and Actor Bill Pullman, the featurettes "Bringing The Truth To Myth: Inside The Characters" (HD 16:28) and "Designing The Look" (HD 12:48), eight deleted scenes (HD 09:52), trailers, upfront previews, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 2.40:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed on Kodak Vision3 film stock using the Arricam LT and ST camera systems in Techniscope and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture is filmic, with warm, rich, and vivid imagery set against incredibly vast Montana plains, mountains, and July blue skies. Colors are perfectly natural throughout. Fleshtones appear accurate. Shrub greens, yellow buds, and rocks provide a realistic Western landscape. The scenery is often spectacular. Horses are beautiful to behold as well. Contrast is excellent with deep blacks, such as hats and attire. Shadow delineation is excellent, and bright scenes are lifelike. Resolution is excellent as well. Facial features, skin pores, hair, beards ,Western attire, homestead buildings, and objects, such as rifles and guns and saddles and blankets, all reveal nice detail. This is a great-looking picture set in pristine Western landscapes. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack delivers some great atmospherics such as thunder and downpours. Foley sound effects are prevalent throughout against an otherwise subtle wild, open-air environment or in a frontier house. The Foley makes for effective realism. Sound effects are often powerful such as slugs to faces, rifle, shotgun and pistol fire. These energize the surrounds and excite deep bass, especially in the .1 LFE channel. The orchestral score is expansive, with a wide and deep soundstage that extends to the surrounds with a strong presence. Dialogue is generally well integrated spatially, especially in interior scenes. The soundtrack benefits tremendously with Auro-Matic processing, which impressively enhances the sense of a holosonic® spherical experience. This is the preferred way to experience this fine soundtrack. (Gary Reber_
