"Leave No Trace" is the story of the lives of war veteran Will (Foster) and his teenage daughter Tom (McKenzie) who have lived off the grid for years in the forest of Portland, Oregon. When their idyllic life is shattered, both are put into social services. After clashing with their new surroundings, Will and Tom set off on a harrowing journey back to their wild homeland. (Gary Reber)

Special features include two deleted scenes (HD 02:32), five behind-the-scenes vignettes (HD 15:46), the featurette "Creating Leave No Trace" (HD 03:08), a location scout photo gallery, upfront previews and a Movies Anywhere digital copy.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally with the Alexa camera system and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits a satisfying natural earthy look with saturation that produces a strong color density, especially in the park's forestry environs. Green are often intense, and the greenish tint is carried throughout. Other colors nicely contrast while fleshtones are rendered naturally. Resolution is generally good, with textural attributes visual throughout, especially in the dominant forest scenes. Overall, this is a compelling visual experience that dramatically exhibits realism. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is frontal focused with earthy atmospherics that reinforce the picture's realism. There are plenty of nuanced sonics that define the environs. In some scenes, heavy tree-removal equipment and Christmas tree harvesting create energized dynamics and subtle surround envelopment. The sound of a fire in a remote cabin sounds inviting and real. Dialogue is perfectly executed with good spatial integration in the Foley sound effects within the remote environs of the woods and the interior scenes in the city. Music is subtle and generally in the background, with the sounds of the forest dominant. This is a well-executed soundtrack that delivers realism. (Gary Reber)
