The 2.00:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits a natural presence throughout, both during exterior and interior settings. The bank appears very realistic as well as the vault and other areas within the structure. Exteriors on the streets of New York City also exhibit natural image quality. Color fidelity is well balanced with no hue exaggerations, for a natural presence. Contrast is well balanced with effective lighting highlights, deep black levels and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is excellent, with fine textural detail exhibited throughout. Interiors are well defined as well as clothing and attire. Facial features are resolved with detail in pores, beard stubble, and hair, including body hair. This is a satisfying digital presentation. The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with violent sound effects such as gunfire, body blows, a powerful explosion and the Hudson River pouring into the vault among the most impressive elements. The orchestral score is present as background support throughout and forward in dynamics. The music spans a wide and deep soundstage that extends to the surrounds for effective envelopment. Atmospherics, such as street sounds, enhance the realism. Surround activity is rather constant, even if at times subtle. Deep bass enhances the gunfire and other operations by the police and the robbers, especially during the flooding scene. Foley sound effects are precise. Dialogue is intelligible and generally well integrated with the other sound elements. This is an effective soundtrack that, at times, delivers heightened holosonic® dimensionality. (Gary Reber)
