"3 From Hell" is the third blood-soaked chapter in a violent crime saga. After barely surviving a furious shootout with the police, Baby Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie), Otis Driftwood (Moseley), and Captain Spaulding (Haig) are behind bars. But pure evil cannot be contained, and a firestorm of murder, madness, and mayhem will be released in this terror ride to Hell...and back. (Gary Reber)

Special features include commentary with Writer-Director Rob Zombie, the making-of four-part documentary "To Hell And Back" (HD 334.28), upfront previews and a digital code.

The 1.85:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD HDR10/Dolby Vision picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, was photographed digitally using Arri Alexa M and Arri Alexa Mini camera systems at 2.8K and sourced from a 2K (not 4K) master Digital Intermediate format. The imagery is stylized throughout and is raw in appearance. Extensive poor quality newscast footage is exhibited along with live footage that exhibits good quality, though, at times is imbued with de-saturated color and digital grain. At times, hues are considerably more saturated, especially reds (as in blood), blues, and greens. In all cases, the imagery is gruesome and bloody. Closeups exhibit excellent fine detail in facial features such as complexions, skin pores, hair, mustaches and beards. Clothing and masks (in the ending scenes), as well as objects exhibit good detail. HDR contrast is generally good with extensive segments of near darkness with revealing shadow delineation. This is a serious visual assault with seemingly endless violence and death. For its intended raw stylization the picture delivers an emotional punch. (Gary Reber)

The TrueHD Dolby Surround 7.1-channel soundtrack unfortunately is absent an Immersive Sound element, which, however, can be simulated using the Dolby up-mixer to impressive effect. The sonics can be summed up as "bombastic." Throughout strong bass extends to sub-25 Hz and enhances the extensive sound effects such as powerful gunshots from pistols and automatic rifles that rip through the soundfield with intensity. Surround energy and dimensional envelopment are aggressively effective in numerous scenes as well as fully enveloping. In one scene an intense thunder and rainstorm loads up the soundfield. Dialogue is generally nicely integrated spatially, The synthesizer score is creepy and intense and occupies a wide and deep soundstage that aggressively extends to the four surround channels for effective soundfield envelopment. This is an intense holosonic® soundtrack that delivers lots of action and horrific impact. (Gary Reber)
