    In "Siberia," Clint (Dafoe) tends bar at a snowbound roadhouse whose patrons speak a language he doesn't understand, and things may not be what they seem. Desperate for answers, he drives a sled team to a nearby cave, but finds no peace. Are the spirits that confront him mere figments of his imagination––or will they slowly tear his body and soul to pieces? (Gary Reber)

    The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. Contrast is an element that tremendously impacts picture quality with white snow, dark clouds, a shadowy cave, a bright intense sun burst, desert sand—all compelling imagery, The interior of the rustic isolated cabin is warm with nuanced wood hues. Fleshtones are natural in every unique setting. This is a very strange and artsy movie with unusual visuals of hallucinations of sorts. (Gary Reber_

    The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is built on atmospherics in the various settings with natural sounds of nature and wind. An occasional sound effect is dynamic sounding. Foley sound effects enhance the realism, The soundtrack for the most part is very quiet with dialogue interspersed that sounds well integrated spatially. The music is sparse but nicely recorded. Deep bass is generally subtle as a foundational element. In one segment an old 50's sound burst from a 45 rpm phono player that has a characteristically distorted sound when "Runaway," performed by Del Shannon is played. The piano segment sounds very good. This is a very unusual soundtrack. (Gary Reber)
