    In "C'mon C'mon," Johnny (Joaquin Phoenix) and his young nephew (Woody Norman) forge a tenuous but transformational relationship when they are unexpectedly thrown together in this delicate and deeply moving story about the connections between adults and children and the past and the future.     Special features include commentary with Writer-Director Mike Mills, a making-of featurette (HD 08:10), upfront previews and a digital code.

    The 1.66:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally in black and white and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture is low budget with little production design qualities that make for visual impressions. The gray scale is acceptable. Resolution is soft with limited sharpness. Contrast is generally good. Overall, this is a under-whelming vsual experience but fits the depressive nature of the storytelling. (Gary Reber)

    The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack dialogue focused with dialogue that often sounds close miked or ADR, though there are plenty of interior scenes that deliver good spatial integration. The orchestral/choral/rock score sounds flat across the soundstage. with subtle extension to the surrounds. Atmospherics during city scenes can be loud or muffled. Surround energy is enveloping at times but can also be essentially not a factor, such as during the interior scenes. Overall, this is a mediocre soundtrack, but then the material presents limitations. (Gary Reber)
