Wolf Hound

"Wolf Hound" is a World War II epic inspired by true events that features sequences using vintage aircraft. On a recon mission over Nazi-occupied France, pilot David Holden (James Maslow) is shot down long with s B-17 bomber. He lands near an airfield, where he learns the Germans are loading the U.S.-marked aircraft with a city-destroying superbomb that could help the Axis win the war. Now, Holden must evade search patrols and a vengeful Nazi soldier to rescue the captured crew and stop the doomsday plot. (Gary Reber)

Chait, Actor James Maslow, Producer Sue Witham and Wrier-Co-Producer Timothy Ritchey, the featurettes "Wolf Hound: Behind The Scenes" (HD 30:32) and "Wolf Hound: Creating The Visual Effects" (HD 21:14), 11 deleted and extended scenes (HD 10"08), theatrical trailer and a digital copy.

The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Evolution Scope using the Arri Alexa Mini and sourced from a 4K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture is clear and sharp throughout, Color fidelity is excellent with natural hues exhibited such as the greens and browns of the forest, the Nazi uniforms, the flames of fires, the armored vehicles, etc. Flesh tones appear accurate. Contrast is excellent with natural black levels, revealing shadows, and natural white levels. Resolution is also excellent with fine detail exhibited in facial features such as skin pores, lines, complexions, beard stubble, and hair. Clothing and uniforms as well as all manner of objects exhibit fine detail. This is a very unfiltered digital presentation that is visually satisfying. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is nicely dynamic with the sounds of aircraft engines and propellers, gunfire, bomb explosions and other sound effects. Atmospherics are realistic sounding. The orchestral score is prevalent throughout though mostly positioned as a background element with occasional frontal energy during intense action. Foley sound effects are synced well. Deep bass in the .1 LFE channel enhances the action sequences, which straighten the dynamics. Aggressive surround energy is prevalent throughout. Dialogue is intelligible and generally with decent spatial integration. This is a well crafted WWII holosonic® soundtrack that is action focused. (Gary Reber)
