The 2.39:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, was photographed digitally using the Arri Alexa Mini LF and Arri Alexa SXT camera systems and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. Picture quality is impressively sharp and clear with exceptional resolution throughout. Color fidelity is saturated but with natural hues that pop with a nuance wide dynamic range. Vividness is exhibited throughout. Everything appears natural with deep blacks and natural pastel hues exhibited on the interior of the train, Flesh tones are perfectly natural throughout, Contrast is excellent with dynamic blacks, excellent shadow delineation and radiant white levels. Resolution is superb with fine detail exhibited throughout such as in fine facial feature detail, clothing and object textures. This is a wonderfully colorful picture with extremely vivid imagery throughout. Reference quality throughout. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is extremely active and loud with mayhem throughout, Sound effects are galore and active throughout. Surround energy is aggressive and rather prevalent with the sounds of low frequency rail friction as the train is in virtually constant motion. The surround channels are used extensively throughout the soundfield. Atmospherics within the train sound very realistic. Dialogue is intelligible and rather fast talking but with goo spatial integration. The orchestral score is dynamic and enveloping. Deep sub-25 Hz bass is felt during numerous scenes of sonic mayhem.with every crash, punch, stab, shot, and other violent actions. This is a kinetic holosonic® experience that is dimensional throughout. (Gary Reber)
