"Earth Girls Are Easy" follows the misadventures of three furry aliens––played by Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans––whose spaceship crash-lands into a pool owned by Valerie, a valley-girl manicurist (Geena Davis). Befriended by Valerie and given human makeovers, the extraterrestrial trio embarks on a wild weekend filled with partying, police pursuits, and, yes, interplanetary love. (Gary Reber)

The 2.35:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 Ultra HD picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, was photographed on film in anamorphic Panavision® using Panavision cameras and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The action is zany and the picture is vividly colorful with eye-catching imagery. Film grain is virtually undetectable as it is so fine. The black-and-white sequences exhibit excellent gray scale imagery. Colors are wonderfully vivid with natural flesh tones .The imagery is sharp and clear throughout. Contrast is excellent with deep blacks, revealing shadows, and bright white levels. Resolution is excellent with fine detail exhibited throughout, The beginning scenes of the three aliens reveal the detailed body fur and then normal facial features are well defined. Costumes and objects are nicely defined throughout with good textural detail. Dimensional depth is excellent. This is a fun picture experience that is vividly colorful and enjoyable throughout. The DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0-channel soundtrack features natural dialogue with good spatial integration. The music though sounds a bit harsh, The stereo soundstage exhibits numerous instances of pans, Ambiances and sound effects are effective. as location effects. This is an enjoyable soundtrack that perfectly complements the zany action. (Gary Reber)
