In "Project Wolf Hunting," while under heavy armed guard, a group of dangerous convicts aboard a cargo ship unite in a coordinated escape attempt that soon escalates into a bloody, all-out riot. But as the fugitives continue their brutal campaign of terror they soon discover that not even the most vicious among them is safe from the horror they unknowingly unleashed from the darkness below deck. The 2.39:1 1080p picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. The picture exhibits lots of blood hues from the extreme violence that occurs on the ship. The ship's interior is clad in greenish hues. The actual atmosphere appears natural with a green tint. Flesh tones are generally natural. Contrast appears balanced. Black levels are deep and white levels are not exaggerated, Shadow delineation is revealing. Resolution is good with fine detail exhibited throughout, This is a generally a satisfying picture packed with violence. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with intense sound effects such as powerful gunfire and accented kill maneuvers that are enhanced with sharp bass support. Foley sound effects sync well with the intense action. The orchestral score is quite aggressive with a wide soundstage that extends to the surrounds. Punctuated sound effects such as thunder and heavy rain enhance the atmospherics at sea. The Korean dialogue sounds realistic with English subtitles at the bottom of the frame. Deep bass extension is powerful and enhances the intense action. This is a very active sound effects-based holosoni® soundtrack that is dynamic. (Gary Reber)
