The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Panavision® and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. Picture quality is excellent with a rich and warm color palette that exhibits superb realism. Hues exhibit fine gradations in shading. Primaries pop, especially deep red and orange hues. Flesh tones are nicely realistic as well as blood spatters. Contrast is excellent with a wide spectrum of blacks and shadows and natural white levels. Resolution is revealing of fine detail during closeups but often the imagery is a bit soft as a cinematography filmic look. Edge definition is nevertheless sharp and clean. This is an appealing picture with excellent color fidelity. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with effectively energized sound effects that excite. Atmospherics are realistic. Foley sound effects are perfectly synced with picture. The orchestral score is effectively haunting and is spread wide and deep across the sound stage with aggressive extension to the surrounds. Sound effects and surround envelopment is directionalized. Overall, at times soundfield aggressiveness is effectively energized with deep bass transient extension to sub-25 Hz and enhanced spatial dimensionality. LFE output energizes axe strikes with weight. Dialogue is intelligible but quite forward and ADR and/or body miked with poor spatial integration. (Gary Reber)
