In "Hellraiser IV: Bloodline," a 22nd century scientist attempts to right the wrong his ancestor created: the puzzle box that opens the gates of Hell and unleashes Pinhead and his Cenobite legions. (Gary Reber)

Special features include new commentary with Writer Peter Atkins, Stephen Jones and Kim Newman, the new featurette "The Beauty Of Suffering" (HD 27:48), workprint version of the film (HD01:22:11), the documentary "Hellraiser Evolutions" (HD 48:15), the featurette "Books Of Blood And Beyond: The Literary Works Of Clive Barker" (HD 19:23), image gallery, easter egg and theatrical trailer.

The 1.85:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 4K Ultra HD Dolby Vision/HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, photographed on 35 mm film stock in anamorphic Panavision® using the Panavision Panaflex Platinum camera system and sourced from a newly restoration in 4K master Digital Intermediate format by Arrow Films. Film grain is very smooth and never objectionable. The color palette is vivid with saturated hues that pop, such as blood reds. Everything looks beautifully rendered. Flesh tones appear natural throughout. HDR contrast is excellent with natural black levels, revealing shadows and illuminated whites. Resolution is revealing of fine detail, especially during closeups of facial features, clothing textures and production design sets, as well as the intricacies of the puzzle box. This is a well crated picture with Hellraiser trademark gore. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with the best fidelity of the four films. Sound effects are intense and their impact is enhanced with deep bass extension in the .1 LFE channel. Imaging of sound effects is excellent with a wide stereo perspective. Atmospherics are wanting. The orchestral score extends from the wide soundstage to the surrounds for aggressive envelopment. Dialogue is intelligible with generally good spatial integration. This is a holosonic® soundtrack with spooky and gory sound effects that will please fans. (Gary Reber)
