    Wild Target is the British remake of the 2003 French hit Cible Emouvanie, by Pierre Salvaddori. Victor Maynard (Nighy) is a middle-aged solitary assassin whose professional routine is interrupted when he falls for his intended hit, Rose (Blunt), a free-spirited thief. When he spares Rose's life, Victor inadvertently acquires a young apprentice, Tony (Grint) and sets off an outrageous chain of events that turn the trio's worlds upside down. Believing Victor to be a private detective, Victor's two new companions tag along, while he attempts to thwart the murderous intentions of his unhappy client, resulting in comedic mayhem.     The 2.34:1 1080p AVC picture is perfectly natural in appearance, with rich and warm hues that at times express a striking vividness. Fleshtones are pleasantly natural as well. Contrast is excellent, with deep and solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is nicely rendered with details that reveal facial features, clothing, and object textures. Occasionally the imagery appears soft, but this is probably intentional. Overall this is a very satisfying visual experience that is sure to please. (Gary Reber)

    The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is lively enough, with effective surround envelopment in the form of atmospheric sound effects, car chases, and gunshots. The orchestral music score, at times, features pop songs, with a wide and deep soundstage presence that extends to the surrounds. Deep bass is solid and enhances the overall sense of dynamic impact. Dialogue is intelligible and can be spatially integrated. Overall, this is an effective soundtrack that is lively, yet quiet, when called upon. The sonics won't disappoint. (Gary Reber)
