    In I Spit On Your Grave, a beautiful woman from the city, Jennifer Hills (Butler), rents an isolated cabin in the country to write her latest novel. Soon a group of local lowlifes subject Jennifer to a nightmare of degradation, rape, and violence. Left for dead, she returns for vengeance. Trapping her male attackers one by one, she inflicts acts of physical torment upon them with a ferocity that surpasses her own ordeal. When the carnage clears, victim has become victor. Based on Meir Zarchi's motion picture Day Of The Woman. (Tricia Spears)

    Special features include commentary with Director Steven R. Monroe and Producer Lisa Hansen, the featurette The Revenge Of Jennifer Hills: Remaking A Cult Icon (SD 16:25), deleted scenes (HD 11:43), trailers, a radio spot, a digital copy, and up-front ads.

    The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture is digitally photographed with a natural appearance and overall pale-gray rendering. Otherwise, colors and fleshtones appear natural within the dreary stylization treatment. Contrast is well balanced with excellent blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is excellent, as revealed in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. The imagery is pristine as well. This is an intense visual experience throughout. (Gary Reber)

    The Dolby® TrueHD 5.1-channel soundtrack is atmospheric driven, with realistic exterior scenes that intensify the setting. Major sound effects are limited but when engaged definitely punch the sonics. Surround envelopment is also limited. Essentially, this is a nuanced sonic experience that underscores the intensity of emotions. (Gary Reber)

    I was always told to seek the superlative, and where home entertainment is concerned, WSR makes sure that my reach always exceeds my grasp. Fortunately, in this case, it's a good thing. I can count on WSR to always go beyond what every other magazine in the industry can provide. It has inspired me to explore the concepts, both technical and subjective, to the extent that I even feel smarter about home entertainment technology. Hardware and software are both dealt with in an informative and engaging way, so the value of the magazine surpasses its modest price. WSR has been a great inspiration for my wishes and dreams. I wish I could afford the ultra wares I see covered in the magazine. Nevertheless, I am wiser because I have gained a sense of judgment through reading WSR. (I must admit to having a bit of common sense, though, since I have been using Monster Cable products for over 10 years!) I hope WSR will continue to ignite the interest in its audience as it has up to now.
