    Seduced by the challenge of an impossible case, the driven Dr. Carl Jung (Fassbender) takes the unbalanced yet beautiful Sabina Spielrein (Knightley) as his patient. Jung's weapon is the method of his master, the renowned Sigmund Freud (Mortensen). Both men fall under Sabina's spell. A Dangerous Method is based on a true story and the stage play The Talking Cure by Christopher Hampton and the book A Most Dangerous Method by John Kerr. (Gary Reber)

    Special features include commentary with Director David Cronenberg, a making-of featurette (HD 07:41), AFI's Harold Lloyd Master Seminar with Cronenberg, up-front previews, and BD-Live functionality.

    The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture is exceptionally natural in appearance, with a perfectly balanced color palette. Fleshtones are naturally hued throughout. Colors are photographically natural, never exaggerated. Contrast is also well balanced with deep blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution is impressive with fine detail in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture exhibited, enhancing the realism of the picture. The picture is pristine as well. This is a very fine visual experience that is pleasing throughout. (Gary Reber)

    The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is dialogue focused. Dialogue sounds naturally integrated spatially. Foley and atmospherics are realistically portrayed. The piano component of the music score is beautifully recorded, either in a solo presentation or accompanied with orchestra. Otherwise, there are no distinguishing qualities, with the sonic experience quietly presented. (Gary Reber)
