Based on Alexis Nolent's French graphic novel, "Du Plomb Dans La Tete," Bullet To The Head tells the story of a New Orleans hit man (Stallone) and a DC cop (Kang) who form an unlikely alliance to bring down the killers of their respective partners. (Gary Reber)
Special features include the featurette Bullet To The Head: Mayhem Inc. (HD 09:21), upfront previews, and an UltraViolet digital copy.
The 1.77:1 1080p AVC picture quality is terrific, with a strong saturated color palette that exhibits naturalness throughout. Hues are rich and warm, with excellent fleshtone rendering. Contrast is well balanced with deep, solid blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Fleshtones are naturally rendered and accurate. Resolution is excellent as well, with fine detail exhibited in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. The cinematography is engaging as well. This is a wonderful visual experience that never disappoints. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic and spatially engaging. The music score drives the action with intense low-frequency support in the .1 LFE channel, contributed by a solid drum kit and electric bass. The music is immersive throughout the soundfield. Atmospherics and sound effects are effective, with aggressive presence in the surround channels and directionalized in the front hemisphere. Dialogue is naturally projected with good spatial integration, though, at times is forward sounding. The sonics are terrific and aggressively spatial, for an involving holosonic® action experience.
