From Ridley Scott, the director of Gladiator and Black Hawk Down, comes a new modern epic. Kingdom Of Heaven takes place in medieval Jerusalem, where Balian (Bloom), a young Frenchman, finds honor and redemption on a valiant quest. Against staggering odds, Balian battles overwhelming forces to save his people and fulfill his destiny as a true knight during the crusades. (Suzanne Hodges)
The theatrical trailer is the only supplement.
The MPEG-2-encoded 2.35:1 Blu-ray Disc image is fantastic, with deep blacks, impressive shadow delineation, and impressive resolution. Still, the finest details are not created as well as the best high-definition releases I have seen. (Danny Richelieu)
The lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is fantastic, with very good fidelity and dynamic range, and an impressively well laid-out mix—and that's just the core DTS stream! Now if we only had a reference Blu-ray Disc player that could extract the lossless information. (Danny Richelieu)
