Non-Stop takes place on a transatlantic flight in which U.S. Air Marshall Bill Marks (Neeson) receives a series of cryptic text messages threatening that a passenger will die every 20 minutes unless $150 million is transferred into an off-shore account. With lives of hundreds of passengers hanging in the balance, Marks must draw on all of his training and skill to uncover the killer traveling on the aircraft. (Gary Reber)
Special features include the featurettes Non-Stop Action (HD 05:14) and Suspense At 40,000 Feet (HD 07:45) and an UltraViolet digital copy.
The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture was photographed in 35 mm and exhibits an effective cinematic presence, with a fine veneer of grain throughout. The color palette is strongly saturated, though, teal and blue hues are prominent within the confines of the aircraft. Fleshtones are decently hued within the overall dim interior lighting. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail evident in facial features, hair, clothing, and the airplane's interior surfaces. Contrast is well balanced with deep blacks and revealing shadow delineation. This is a fine filmic visual experience. (Gary Reber)
The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack delivers a confined soundscape within the interior of a transatlantic flight. Surround envelopment is nicely directionalized within an otherwise claustrophobic soundfield, with near-field definition. The sense of confined aircraft ambiance and atmosphere is excellent, while the .1 LFE channel effectively builds to intensify as a ticking bomb is revealed. The intense sense of panic is expressed as sonic chaos. Dialogue is consistently intelligible and reasonably integrated spatially. Fidelity is excellent, as well as dynamics, and the orchestral music score is actively engaging, with a wide and deep soundstage that extends aggressively to the surround. This is an excellent, thrilling holosonic® experience. (Gary Reber)
