Noah is the biblical fable of a man who is chosen by his world's creator to undertake a momentous mission to save all animal life "two by two" on an Ark before an apocalyptic flood cleanses the world. (Gary Reber)

Special features include three featurettes: Iceland: Extreme Beauty (HD 20:40), The Ark Exterior: A Battle For 300 Cubits (HD 19:46), and The Ark Interior: Animals Two By Two (HD 19:55); and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture is remarkably cinematic in texture and tone, yet photographed with the Arri Alexa Plus digital camera system. The color palette is densely toned in earthly hues with strong saturation. Browns, grays, and blacks are prominent and contrasted, with bright daylight and blue skies. Fleshtones are generally natural in appearance, with a tendency to favor golden brown hues. Contrast is nicely balanced with deep blacks and decent shadow delineation. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail exhibited throughout, especially during close-ups of facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture such as is evident with the Ark's wooden construction. This is an engaging, dramatic visual experience that effectively depicts one of mankind's greatest fables. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio® 7.1-channel soundtrack is effectively enveloping and holosonic® throughout, with an aggressive directionalized surround presence that spreads throughout the seven channels positioned as in the theatrical presentation. The orchestral music score is wonderfully scaled to match the spectacular visuals, with a wide and deep soundstage presence that aggressively extends to the surrounds. Atmospherics, sound effects, and Foley are perfectly integrated into the mix. Dialogue sounds naturally integrated,s with decent spatial integration and directionality. Deep bass is foundational throughout, with extension to sub-25 Hz frequencies, and provides strong dynamic contrast. This is a powerfully dynamic presentation that is reference quality throughout.
