The 2.35:1 1080p AVC picture is thickly saturated with strong hues and deep blacks. Contrast is generally well balanced, with revealing shadow delineation. Fleshtones, however, are inconsistent, often appearing orange and unnatural, while at other times perfectly natural. Resolution is excellent, especially during close-ups of facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. As a result, the imagery is visually engaging with its dense stylish color palette. The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding throughout with a deep, pounding .1 LFE track, with bass extension to sub-25 Hz frequency, often sounding natural and rhythmic. The orchestral and choral music is nicely recorded with a wide and deep soundstage that extends aggressively to the surrounds. Atmospherics and sound effects are an effective and dimensional element, especially the extensive gunfire from automatic weapons that permeate the soundfield. Dialogue is generally spatially integrated and intelligible. This is an exciting holosonic® soundtrack, with a pounding emotional feel and dynamics. (Gary Reber)
