    In 1692, five Ipswich Colony families formed The Covenant to protect their supernatural powers. But when one family breaks the silence, they are forever banished from the land. Now, some 300 years later, the exiled son returns to take revenge on four descendants (who are now students, and warlocks, at the elite Spencer Prep School) and their families. But, trust me, these boys are not going to take this threat lying down. (Jack Kelley)

    Special features are exactly the same as on the DVD reviewed in Issue 117: commentary with Director Renny Harlin, a 19-minute behind-the-scenes featurette, and previews.

    The 2.35:1 Blu-ray Disc exhibits deep blacks, good shadow delineation, and natural fleshtones. Details are generally captured well, although there are times when it does look soft, and the blue color scheme matches the storytelling well. This is a good high-definition release.     The uncompressed linear PCM 5.1-channel soundtrack can be very fluid and natural, with good fidelity and well-placed phantom images around the room, especially toward the end of the presentation. The mix is inconsistent, though, which is disappointing. (Danny Richelieu)
