    In the year 2415, Bregna is the only remaining city on earth, after a virus destroyed 99 percent of the world's population 400 years earlier. The "perfect society" is now governed by the Goodchild regime, but there are those within the walls who know that all is not what it appears. Aeon Flux (Theron) is one of the Monicans—rebels who believe in freedom and refuse to obey the ways of the government—and it's up to her to go after Trevor Goodchild (Csokas) and eliminate him.     Special features include commentary by Charlize Theron and Producer Gail Anne Hurd; commentary by Co-Screenwriters Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi; five featurettes: Creating A World: Aeon Flux (21 minutes), The Locations Of Aeon Flux (15 minutes), The Stunts Of Aeon Flux (nine minutes), The Costume Design Workshop Of Aeon Flux (14 minutes), and The Craft Of The Set Photographer On Aeon Flux (four minutes); the theatrical trailer; previews; and up-front ads.

    With well-rendered images, the 2.32:1 VC-1-encoded HD DVD picture is bright and detailed, with good contrast and shadow delineation that brings life to the imagery. Detail in the shadows can be limited in some scenes, however, and some textures are not very well resolved. Color balance is generally good, and fleshtones look natural. Edge enhancement is not a problem, and the source element is generally very clean. (Danny Richelieu)

    Dialogue in the Dolby® Digital Plus and DTS® Digital Surround™ 5.1-channel encodings is recorded and played back well, being slightly more fluid sounding in the Dolby track. The mix is energetic, with well-placed images across the front stage, however, images in the surround stage can be limited. Pans across each stereo wall are impressive. Effects and music are not as natural-sounding as the dialogue, which is a disappointment.The mix is exciting, though, and very involving. (Danny Richelieu)
