WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Back in 1988, Die Hard perhaps set the stage for suspenseful, humorous action thrillers to come. McClane launches his own one-man war against terrorist Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) who has taken hostages in a Los Angeles high rise building over the Christmas holiday.

LaserDisc Picture:
The cinematography of Jan De Bont and Oliver Wood present phenomenally realistic visuals that are superbly framed in the widescreen anamorphic Panavision® format. The 2.21:1 digital video transfer is first-rate with excellent color balance and ne’er a trace of white and black spec artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The tense and dynamic music scores of Michael Kamen are beautifully recorded as is the Foley and realistic special effects involving stupendous explosions, submachine guns and pistols, 747 jets and helicopters. The properly aggressive Dolby Surround® and rumbling bass will leave you breathless.
