WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
Matinee is delightful entertainment for the whole family. John Goodman plays Lawrence Woolsey, the gregarious creator of sci-fi thriller movies and the best self-promoter of 1962. He brings his premiere demonstration of “AtomoVision” with spine-tingling “RumbleRama” to Key West Florida where he meets a group of great kids and this charming story unfolds. The DVD does not feature the Mant short film that was included with the LaserDisc.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is oversaturated, too red, and some video artifacts are evident in some scenes. You will need to adjust your color and tint monitor controls to overcome these flaws. The aspect ratio is 1.66:1.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby Surround® is excellent with subtle surround and great bass that rumbles down at about 25 Hz!
