WSR Narrative Review |

Story Synopsis:
The sequel Weekend At Bernie’s II follows on the heels of the sleeper comedy hit of Summer 1989, with the original cast, Andrew McCarthy, Jonathan Silverman and Terry Kiser as the quintessential animated stiff Bernie Lomax. This time the escapade is in a Caribbean setting as the boys set out with Bernie to find the $2 million he embezzled.. A voodoo priestess, and her flunkies bring back to life as a music loving dancing zombie so he can lead them to the hidden loot. Slapstick it is here on out with “The Bernie Shuffle” as only Terry Kiser can. The situations are crazy and action packed, Bernie packs more laughs into this two day junket than any other corpse can.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture quality is punchy with bright, vibrant color and sharp, clear images. No noise artifacts are present. Everything really pops with a “I want to go to the Caribbean sizzle.” The aspect ratio is 1.85:1.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is generally good with decent fidelity. There is no effective envelopment of the sound except that the Calypso-flavored music provides a subtle surround effect.
