Story Synopsis:
In 1975, six loggers returning from work in the forests above Flagstaff Arizona claim to have come upon a hovering UFO. Accord-ing to their story, one of them was abducted by the spacecraft and subjected to painful medical examinations. He was then found five days later (and some distance away) bloody and disoriented. Fire In The Sky is based on the book by one of the men. This is an interesting and provocative story. The scenes aboard the UFO are particularly potent.
LaserDisc Picture:
The 2.18:1 transfer looks very good with a soft, film-like quality and a slight orange tint to flesh tones. Blacks are good, shadow detail is good, but the picture is not as sharp and clear as the best discs. Special visual effects by Industrial Light & Magic are spectacular and visually powerful, effectively intensifying the frightening drama.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is excellent for the most part and features an extremely aggressive and enveloping Dolby Surround® track in the alien sequences, with extended bass to 25 Hz in the surrounds! Parts of this disc will test the mettle of your home theatre system with sustained loud passages with deep bass.
